The municipality of Tümlauer-Koog is located in the west of the peninsula Eiderstedt, directly at the Tümlauer bay, near the North Sea bathing resort of Sankt Peter-Ording. The Koog was established in the first half of the 1930s and was inaugurated by the then named Hermann Göring in October 1935. The renaming in Tümlauer-Koog took place 1945 directly after Kriegsdede. The embankment created an agricultural area of 585 hectares, on which 32 settlement points were created. The young Koog received a jug, which also served as a post office, and in 1936 his own village school, which had existed for more than thirty years. Life in the Koog has long been characterized by agriculture. Fishing was only practiced by external fishermen, mostly from Ording, until the 1980s from the small tide harbor.
