Depending on the region, the emergency medical service is structured differently. It is organized by the Kassenärztliche Vereinigungen. In many countries, there are special emergency services that you can visit in the event of an illness. Elsewhere, the treatment takes place in the practice of the physician who has the service. A number of health care associations also work with a medical doctor who provides medical assistance at home, especially if your health does not allow you to go to an emergency department.
